Lowry Style

Lowry Style

We have been looking at paintings by the artist L.S Lowry, who liked to paint pictures of busy places filled with people.  We found out that he was a rent collector who would sketch anyboby he found interesting to watch whilst doing his rounds.

His work inspired us to create our own pictures of busy places.  Where better to start than our very own playground.

The children in 4/3KG created their own individual pitcutres of the playground using art straws as matchstick figures.

If Lowry was alive today, how would he paint a scene at a busy airport?

For homework the children made some sketches to give us some ideas of what the scene might look like.

We created a scene outside an airport in sunny Spain using peg dolls as people.

This photo really doesn't do the display any justice so please pop in and have a look!
