We had a lovely time pond dipping in our very own pond at school. It has taken a few years to create our wild area but now we have a place where lots of creatures want to live.
We found dragonfly nymphs, newts, tadpoles and squillions of snails.
Have a look at some our photos.

Discover what life was like in Roman Britain
For the next few weeks we will be learning about what it would have been like to live in Roman Britain.
To start us off we shall be looking at Roman towns and creating our own town using drama techniques to help us.
Begin by using the link below to take you to a site which tells us what could be found in a Roman town.
Make a list of things needed and add a few notes so that you will remember what they are. Record your work in your topic books.

Messy Maths
We have been busy learning about symmetry in Maths and as our topic this half term is about India, we decided to look at Rangoli patterns.
These are bright colourful symmetrical patterns used to decorate doorsteps during the festival of Divali.
First we looked at some examples of Indian Rangoli and then we designed our own. This wasn't as easy as we thought it would be!
You might be wondering what the messy part was, well .....
Mrs ketley made us enlarge our patterns by drawing them on the playground in chalk. We then used a mixture of flour, water and food colouring and painted them.
We had to race to get them finished by playtime and then had to keep guard to make sure nobody walked on them .
We hope these patterns will last a little while so we can show our parents this week.
Have a look and tell us what you think.

Superhero Fashion Show
The grand finale of our superhero topic was our fashion show.
The children made invitations to their parents and issued them with tickets they had designed themselves.
All that was left to do was to put on our superhero t-shirts, put our pants over our tights and then we were ready.
If you didn't make the show here are some photos to show you what you missed.

Outdoor Learning with the Foxes
This week we had great fun working outside with Oly Cooper; he likes working outdoors and making mud pies!
He showed us how squirrels survive the winter by hiding their food and we practised this by playing 'Hide and Seek' with pinecones.
We got very dirty making tree faces using wet mud and leaves, stones and twigs to decorate them.
Some of us kept wanting to wash our hands all of the time........ but Willow didn't!

See if you can spot some faces on the trees.
We had lots of fun making them.
Oly also showed us how to charm the worms by making pitter-patter sounds on the ground with sticks.
We didn't think it would work but just look what happened.
We had a great time learning outdoors!

A CHRISTMAS SURPRISE
We would like to say a very big thank you to our special visitor, the one and only Father Christmas, who dropped in to see us all before Christmas.

We have all been so good in 4/3 Foxes that Father Christmas even left us some special presents to share.
Have a look at us unwrapping our gifts.
We got some playdough with tools and boards, and some lovely Christmas books.
Check out these titles for yourself.

Be sure to keep us on the nice list and off the naughty list this year!!
